Xàbia International College

Espacios Maestros’ design for Xàbia International College in Valencia harmoniously integrates local stone and wood elements with the landscape, embodying the school’s essence while respecting its Mediterranean context.

  • area / size 40,903 sqft
  • Completed 2024
  • Location Valencia, Spain,
  • For this new construction project located in the heart of Xàbia, the proposal arises as an intersection between the DNA of the school, the place where it is located, and our values as a studio. This is how an organic proposal is born, which respects as much as possible the implantation in the land inspired by the watchtowers and the stone mills of Xàbia, and which transmits that Mediterranean essence so characteristic of the place. The spaces find their connection with the exterior and with each other through a large wooden walkway, which with a simple gesture articulates all the buildings and allows the vegetation to grow between them. The exposed wooden structures and the use of local stone evoke the construction tradition of the area, integrating organically with the landscape and minimizing the environmental impact.
