Subtext VERVE Columbus High Street
Ankrom Moisan‘s design for Subtext VERVE Columbus High Street in Ohio integrates Art Deco stylings to create a modern living space for students with luxurious amenities and intentional emotional mapping.
Subtext VERVE Columbus High Street, designed by Ankrom Moisan, features Art Deco stylings that create a sleek and modern living space for college students and graduates. This distinctive design sets it apart from other student housing in Columbus, offering residents both luxury and a variety of choices.
The goal for this project was to present its residents with a unique living experience that is dictated by their needs, desires, and preferences. To achieve this, Ankrom Moisan integrated deep, rich colors, pearl-like lighting fixtures, linear textures, metal materials, and the repetition of arch motifs, along with other patterns in the carpet and wall graphics of common areas.
The emotional mission mapping of Subtext VERVE Columbus High Street’s amenity spaces is very intentional, serving a morning-afternoon-night use transformation. The four levels of amenities include academic study rooms, a mixed-use club room, and a fitness area, reinforcing the idea that Subtext VERVE Columbus High Street is a place that embraces the many moods, purposes, and needs of its residents. These flexible spaces encourage student residents to take advantage of Verve Columbus’ amenities for any purpose they need.
The study room mezzanine responds to Subtext VERVE Columbus High Street’s ‘unlonely’ mission by providing private spaces in social settings where residents feel like part of the greater community without necessarily interacting with others. The building’s veneered wood leasing lobby bar serves coffee and other beverages, making the site’s foyer a happening spot to hang out, get work done, and socialize throughout the day and into the evening.
