  • Graphite successfully completed the design and delivery of Phase 2 of Cheltenham College Muscat in August 2024, building on the achievements of the first phase. This phase focuses on expanding the secondary school, offering students advanced learning opportunities in a thoughtfully designed, state-of-the-art environment. The project was a collaborative effort between Graphite and EduReach, ensuring the realization of a world-class educational facility.

The secondary school features cutting-edge STEM facilities designed to foster enthusiasm and a deeper understanding of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. These facilities include modern laboratories, maker spaces, technology suites, and performing arts areas, which provide students with hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for future academic and professional pursuits.

A key architectural feature of the building is its triple-height atrium, crowned by a skylight that allows natural light to flood the school’s core. This bright, open space fosters a sense of connection and openness, enhancing the overall experience for both students and faculty.

At the heart of the school is a distinctive circular drum housing the theatre. This space hosts student performances, assemblies, and community events and becomes a cultural and social hub for the campus. The drum is adorned with a bespoke, patterned façade inspired by Muscat’s urban landscape, creating a unique design element that reflects local culture while serving as a daily artistic focal point for the school community.

The design also emphasizes flexibility in learning environments. Graphite ensured that spaces could quickly adapt to various teaching methods, supporting collaborative and independent learning. This adaptability enables teachers to maximize the functionality of spaces for different activities and learning styles, promoting a dynamic and engaging educational experience.

The architecture and interior design integrate functionality and aesthetic appeal, creating an environment that motivates students and faculty alike. Through this project, Graphite and EduReach have established a learning space that meets the needs of modern education and set a new benchmark for school design in Oman.
