  • EXP is the final component of the phased development of Northeastern University’s new 600,000 GSF science/engineering precinct which includes the award winning ISEC building, pedestrian bridge and landscaped plaza. This major expansion occupies a former brownfield site of surface parking lots across a major rail corridor from the main campus. EXP performs a pivotal role in NU’s evolution to an R-1 research university which included a remarkably ambitious hiring plan for 500 new faculty in 10 years.

EXP provides 357,000 GSF over 8 stories of science and engineering research space, with programmatic focus on science and engineering that builds on the University’s areas of excellence in cyber security, robotics and health. Spaces include robotics-high bay, makerspace, classrooms and NU’s entire chemistry teaching program. Beyond the science/engineering spaces, EXP is a major hub for students and the NU community to meet and gather in and around the building. EXP’s pulse of activity is thriving throughout the entire day.
