Shanghai High School International Division – Creative Center
ATDESIGNOFFICE’s Innovation Center at Shanghai High School International Division thoughtfully merges functionality with aesthetic appeal, fostering an inspiring environment that actively promotes hands-on learning and innovation in Shanghai, China.
Amid the wave of global technological development, innovation in science and technology education is a proactive response to future societal trends. ATDESIGNOFFICE’s concept of the Innovation Center at SHSID is rooted in the integration of practicality and aesthetics in its spaces, aligning with the educational philosophy of the Shanghai High School International Division. It aims to create truly practical and user-friendly spaces that encourage learners to boldly explore and actively engage in hands-on practice. Through carefully designed visual elements and spatial layouts, the center inspires learners’ interest and creativity, allowing the space itself to spark users’ inspiration and support an open, integrated learning ecosystem.
The fully equipped and uniquely featured teaching area includes not only traditional science laboratories but also specialized facilities such as an electric powered vehicle lab, creative design lab, woodworking lab, engineering & manufacturing lab and acoustics lab. These cater to the diverse learning needs of students. Each laboratory is designed with various forms of display areas, teaching zones, and tool storage areas, as well as interactive spaces and reading areas. The overall teaching space is comprehensive and distinctive, effectively enhancing the practicality and fun of learning. It motivates students to actively participate in various experiments and projects, cultivating their hands-on skills and innovative thinking, truly embodying the philosophy of “education as experience.”
The Life Science Center is equipped with a biology lab, cell culture lab, food science lab, and environmental science lab, featuring experimental devices rarely seen in primary and secondary schools. These facilities enable teachers and students to conduct biological experiments in a more sophisticated and engaging manner, fostering students’ interest in this field.
The Innovation Center at Shanghai High School International Division provides students with advanced teaching facilities to actively explore the future. By deeply integrating space and education, this project not only enhances students’ learning motivation and creativity but also offers them opportunities for practice and collaboration. With the continuous advancement of technology and the ongoing innovation of educational models, such facilities will become a significant hallmark of next-generation learning spaces.
