  • Located in the heart of Kensington, NSW, Australia, the Kensington Student Accommodation is a cutting-edge residential project that offers a unique blend of style, functionality, and sustainability. Situated at 177 Anzac Parade, this purpose-built student accommodation is nestled within walking distance of the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Kensington Campus. This 9-level building spread across 15,000 square meters of project size and 3,500 square meters of site size showcases a thoughtful design that complements the existing urban fabric.

The project’s façade features face brickwork on the lower levels, acknowledging the established masonry character of Anzac Parade and the neighboring Masonic Temple. The upper levels boast finely detailed textured concrete, set back to reduce the building’s perceived scale. The offset windows add a playful movement to the façade, creating a visually appealing exterior.

Upon entering, residents are greeted by lushly landscaped courtyards at ground and lower levels, which complement bright, generous recreation areas. The building’s design prioritizes well-being, providing ample natural ventilation, and comfortable spaces. The rooftop terrace offers breathtaking views of UNSW and Randwick Racecourse, featuring a mix of large gathering spaces and more intimate zones.

This project is a testament to the collaboration between engineers, landscape architects, and other specialists, resulting in a design that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional, sustainable, and respectful building responds sensitively to its urban fabric, fostering a strong sense of belonging for the students and meaningful engagement with the local community.
