Jonesborough Elementary School
Clark Nexsen’s Jonesborough Elementary School elegantly integrates local history and traditions into its design, fostering community engagement through vibrant spaces and educational gardens.
Located just outside of the oldest town in Tennessee and nestled on former farmland, Jonesborough Elementary honors the history of its surroundings while investing in the future of the community. The design reflects the area’s rich traditions of storytelling, arts, and agriculture. Serving 1100 students in grades PK-8, its 62 classrooms are organized around a garden courtyard. The school is designed to engage the community through use of site amenities and extended learning programs ranging from art to agriculture. The public wing of the building is activated by elements that pay homage to the lively gathering spaces that are the backbone of downtown Jonesborough.
