The small town of Erbach an der Donau is growing, and with it its need for infrastructure for the local community. The new three-court arena for school and club sports, which has become necessary, is not a purely functional building; with an inviting forecourt, pleasantly designed spectator areas including catering options, and a high level of transparency, it is also a meeting place for community life with an extremely high level of quality of stay and integrative power.

The open-plan spectator area faces the city and the spacious hall through expansive, floor-to-ceiling windows. It remains untouched by everyday activity; athletes use a separate entrance on the side and benefit from short distances. The multi-purpose room, intended for gymnastics but still flexible in use, can be opened up to the foyer via a movable partition wall and incorporated into larger events. The permanently installed spectator stands accommodate 300 people. Wooden seating elements with walkable glass panels bring daylight into the changing room level in the basement and offer surprising views inside and out.
