Coleytown Middle School
CPG Architects revitalized Coleytown Middle School in Westport, enhancing safety and functionality through a modernized façade, upgraded interiors, and state-of-the-art systems for an improved educational environment.
Located in northern Westport, Connecticut, Coleytown Middle School serves students in grades 6 through 8. Following the discovery of mold and poor air quality, CPG was commissioned to renovate and revitalize the school, with a focus on creating a safe and healthy environment for both students and staff.
The renovation project included a complete transformation of the building’s exterior, featuring a new façade, upgraded windows, and a fully redesigned roof. Inside, significant improvements were made to enhance functionality and comfort. These interior upgrades included a state-of-the-art HVAC system, new ceilings, and modern lighting fixtures throughout key communal areas such as the library, cafeteria, rotunda, and central stairwell.
Major interior renovations also featured a new Media Center furnished with contemporary furniture. Upgraded science classrooms with new lab furniture. Completely renovated core bathrooms at the main entrance, alongside comprehensive wayfinding and signage enhancements with
fresh paint throughout the building.
These upgrades collectively support a more modern, welcoming, and health-conscious learning environment for the school community.
