Blending academic ambition with Melbourne’s creative energy, Matrix Education’s first Victorian campus delivers a learning environment that motivates, connects, and inspires. Designed by Merit Interiors, the Box Hill campus merges Matrix’s established identity with the vibrancy of Melbourne, enhancing creativity, collaboration, and focus.

The design captures Melbourne’s urban character while reflecting Matrix’s refined corporate identity, layering raw concrete textures and bold black detailing with warm tonal accents. Strategic branding moments are integrated throughout the space, from a custom ceiling light featuring the Matrix logo to subtle references to the brand’s signature three-line motif, creating a bespoke and distinctly recognisable visual language.

A balance of large classrooms, smaller collaboration booths, and quiet study zones supports a range of learning styles. A state-of-the-art podcasting and video recording studio further enriches the student and teacher experience, seamlessly integrating technology into the learning environment.

Flexibility is key, with modular furniture and operable walls allowing spaces to adapt for group sessions or larger gatherings. Maximised natural light, acoustic balance, and comfortable furnishings prioritise wellbeing and engagement.

Delivered within a tight timeline and navigating complex site conditions, the campus presents a contemporary, inspiring environment that reflects Matrix Education’s values. It provides a space where students can learn, connect, and grow while celebrating both academic excellence and Melbourne’s creative energy.
