  • Thermal Modernization of the School in Domaniów – A Contemporary Space for Education, Integration, and Development
We are proud to present the thermal modernization project of the primary school in Domaniów—a comprehensive upgrade of the building aimed at creating a safe, comfortable, and inclusive educational environment fit for the 21st century.

The representative entrance hall has become the heart of the school—a space accessible to every student, parent, and visitor. It connects all parts of the building and provides convenient access to the administration office, the principal’s office, and the library. The walls are finished with perforated plywood panels that serve as display boards while simultaneously improving acoustics in large spaces.

The school has been fully adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. We ensured step-free access, wide circulation routes, clear pictograms, and vertical circulation between floors through the use of an elevator and carefully designed communication paths.

With neurodiverse children in mind, we designed a variety of spatial typologies—from activity zones that allow children to release excess energy to cozy, quiet enclaves that support rest and sensory regulation. The interiors encourage both concentration and movement, as well as social interaction.

Color played a key role in the design. We applied a simplified, neutral base with contrasting accents placed thoughtfully to aid spatial orientation without overstimulating the senses. This approach is particularly important for children with visual impairments and heightened sensory sensitivity.

In shared areas such as the cloakrooms, we replaced traditional wire-mesh cubicles with modern lockers and warm color tones, creating a friendly and orderly environment. A separate wing houses the sports zone, including a gymnasium and locker facilities, also accessible to the local community thanks to a dedicated entrance. Here, a deep navy blue dominates, emphasizing energy and movement.

Throughout the building, we created an environment that supports development, integration, and independence. This project represents not only a new aesthetic, but a new quality of everyday school life—one in which children can become co-creators of their surroundings through the display of their work, opportunities for personalization, and active participation in shaping the space.
