Think Forward completed the Sports Hall for the St. St. Cyril and Methodius School to give the primary school another step in their renovation in Burgas, Bulgaria.

The project is part of a long-term strategic renovation of St. St. Cyril and Methodius public primary school in Sveti Vlas, Bulgaria, called Think Education Forward. After four implemented projects within 5 years the existing sports hall was renovated in 2020 following the design logic and aesthetics of the prior renovations.

The scope of the project includes the school gym and the adjacent foyer. The spaces are separated thematically and design-wise. The foyer colour palette is a logical continuation of the school hallway design. It provides area for quiet mind sports such as chess and backgammon, and for self-educating via the “sports benefits” wall. Conceptually, the design approach interprеts sports elements such as sports symbols /the metal mesh cabinet/, sports equipment /the ergonomic balance ball chairs/, and the running tracks, marking the path to the gym entrance. The gym provides area for basketball and volleyball training. Four smaller basketball boards are attached to the side columns for the youngest to practise their skills to score a basket. A new ventilation system is installed ensuring fresh air flow. A metal mesh protects the air ducts and the energy-efficient lamps as well as all the windows and glass doors.
