Red5 Studio designed the English learning space for English Town located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The English Town English Center design concept is driven by the demand for performance. Red5 Studio dreamed up an idea to be presented in an orderly and effective way. With an area of 350 square meters in the 5th floor of the Sumikura building, the owner wanted a space to teach communicating English for people of high school age or older, especially those who work and do not have a lot of free time. With the purpose to provide communicating skills for students, the owner did not want a teaching space limited in rigid style. Interaction and collaboration is encouraged in this new space.

Communication is a necessity that dates back to when humans were in a cave or the forest. Red5 borrowed communication spaces from that primordial time into the current design. The classroom space is divided into nine large and small caves. The nine small caves provide a space for communication in a larger space in the forest. The learning area is highly adaptive and transformable. When needed, the entire forest space can become a large classroom for one hundred students.

Each cave is used in a different way with different shapes and details of decoration. This leaves students feeling fresh and new whenever they step into a cave. When students step out of the cave, the interactive area includes a forest with trails, a canopy and grass carpet all expressed in stylized language, through materials, shapes and light.

The technique of spray painting displays the roughness of the cave while the green carpet and the wooden pillars from the floor to the ceiling are branched, forming canopy yards, organized light to create dense dark areas interleaved. Everything is calculated for students to feel like they are studying in the forest.

Focusing on communicating and writing less, the interior also has the flexibility to compact and make a lot of different learning combinations. The tables and walls are made of glass in order to easily write or erase.
