Design Collaborative’s renovation of Washington Elementary in Fort Wayne, transforms the school into a secure, inspiring environment that fosters student and staff collaboration through thoughtful design and improved accessibility.
This renovation is about more than updates—it creates an environment where students and staff feel safe, inspired, and supported every day.
An updated secure entry vestibule provides a smooth, confident entrance, while daylight and thoughtful design make every arrival feel bright and intentional.
Inside, the library serves as a vibrant heart of the school, a flexible, light-filled space that sparks curiosity and collaboration. A new elevator improves accessibility throughout the building, and the fully reimagined front office creates a secure, welcoming entry experience designed to better support students, staff, and families each day. Every update, large and small, was designed to help students thrive and support teachers in their work. The end result is a school that feels safe, uplifting, and ready for years of learning and community growth.
