Studio Vapore designed the Admissions Meeting Room at the Western Academy of Beijing as a compact, client-facing environment where prospective families are introduced to the school.

Conceived as a setting for first impressions, the room distills the atmosphere of the wider campus into a single, carefully composed space.

Within this enclosed room, two zones are seamlessly integrated. A soft lounge area supports conversations between parents and admissions staff, while a custom-designed play structure allows younger children to explore and stay engaged. The layout maintains visual connection throughout, enabling parents to remain at ease — able to focus on the discussion while keeping their children within sight, actively enjoying the space.

Warm colours, tactile materials, and tailored elements echo the identity of the school, creating a welcoming and reassuring atmosphere. The result is an admissions setting where both adults and children feel comfortable, and where the experience of the space itself becomes part of the school’s introduction.
