Northeastern University Miami transforms 10,995 square feet in Wynwood, Miami’s renowned arts and innovation hub, into a campus that resembles a dynamic urban learning environment rather than a conventional institution. As the institution’s latest global campus, its interior offers a high-quality academic experience with a strong local touch, linking students and professionals to programs focused on Miami’s expanding sectors such as technology, healthcare, and finance.

The design blends a refined student community with Wynwood’s vibrant, creative vibe. Using bold colors, layered graphics, and biophilic elements establishes an immediate sense of belonging. A dynamic entry portal anchors the experience, highlighted by a monumental mural by a local artist, painted collaboratively during the campus launch as a public act of creation and inclusion. A specially designed 3D “N,” tailored to fit a curved wall, seamlessly combines the brand with the space, making a unified statement.

Sustainability guided the design by careful reuse of existing storefronts, ceilings, lighting, and furnishings. This approach reduces waste while enhancing the district’s industrial character. The outcome is an inclusive, community-oriented campus that broadens educational access and fosters stronger ties between the university, the neighborhood, and the workforce.
