  • Hacker completed the Cascade Student Union at Portland Community College as a space to provide connection for students in Portland, Oregon.

The new LEED Gold Student Union is PCC Cascade’s first building focused fully on student spaces and services. It includes administrative departments, faculty offices, food services, child care services, and ample lounge and study space.

As a commuter campus, having a central gathering space where students are welcome to gather, relax, study, and collaborate was a priority. Created as part of a larger, multi-phase expansion, the Student Union faces a lush new outdoor plaza with bike and pedestrian access that connects multiple campus buildings and creates a safe thoroughfare through this busy urban campus.
